Despite Shawn's most recent album being heavily influenced by the pop genre, Shawn still has plenty of acoustic songs as well as acoustic covers on his YouTube Channel, allowing some of his songs to be placed in the acoustic music category.

Upon clicking on Shawn's website, the first thing that instantly catches the audience's attention is the huge picture of Shawn and the big bold writing that advertises his new tour. This is a very common convention of a music website as music artists prioritise the advertisement of upcoming tours and albums in order to encourage the audience to buy the album or tickets to see the artist live. The colour scheme for the website is clever as it uses bright blues that fade into darkness, giving the impression that Shawn is being illuminated, creating links between Shawn's tour and album. The font used to advertise Shawn's tour also gives the impression of a neon light sign, yet again bringing his album and tour name to life.
There are also multiple links to social media in the corners of the pages, as well as a tab menu which can be used to navigate around the page*. This is common on most music websites as it makes the website easier to navigate as well as distinguishing what the website has to offer. The tab titles are also common as most artists advertise the same thing such
as tours, music, news and even merchandise. Up in the top corner, Shawn's name is shown in a large, sharpe bright white font. The bright white font stands out against the black background, allowing it to stand out against the rest of the page, signifying Shawn's importance as this website is advertising him and his music. After a few seconds, the advertisement for Shawn's tour changes to a video of Shawn's most recent hit, "Mercy", the acoustic version. This is so Shawn's music genre can be established as well as linking the audience to his YouTube channel where they will hopefully explore his music.
*Upon clicking the tabs, you are linked to mini segements within the original website that show information depending on the tab selected. These tabs include merchandise that advertise Shawn's official merch as well as tour dates and advertising his Spotify (a few popular music streaming site.) The other segments are similar to that of the home page as they follow the same colour scheme and font scheme (sharp white font.)
Challenges
Shawn's website has a unconventional feature on his website that some other websites also have. Shawn offers a "Shawn Access" where fans can sign up for extra information and competitions. This encourages fans to become more active within Shawn's fanbase and often spreads the word as the site encourages you to share information with others. An app is also offered which yet again offers additional information about Shawn and also offers competitions. This works well with Shawn's website, adverts and digipak as it pans to a large audience and sells Shawn's music as well as making sure his community is active.
