Stormzy's website is very basic and unlike other websites, is not crammed full of information or advertisements on the first page. There are no colourful drawings or pictures. This gives the impression that the website is serious. This has links to grime as crime often covers serious topics with feeling and emotion. The whole of Stormzy's page is black, including the costume of the characters and probs in the scene. This conveys the idea that grime has serious and dark topics, hence the dark colours. The white font is used to create a contrast between the dark colour scheme and to draw attention to the main page tabs.
Challenges
Stormzy's website follows many conventions of a generic website. The website has no new additional or original features and this challenges what is expected of a music website. Most music websites try to stick out or draw attention by having new features that other websites won't have, however, Stormzy's website is very basic and has no direct appeal to its audience as it has very limited interactive features. This is a bold move and it means new audience members will struggle to feel a connection with Stormzy and his music.
